Countdown to Thanksgiving: Pumpkin and Bittersweet Chocolate Cheesecake

We continue our countdown to Thanksgiving, by looking at some of our favorite Thanksgiving desserts, confections, and treats created in past years. All of the items we are covering are available on the 2010 Thanksgiving Pricing Guide (available by clicking here). Give us a call or send us an email with questions or orders. We look forward to contributing to your special Thanksgiving gathering!

Yesterday, we looked at our delicious scones. Today we turn our attention back to holiday desserts, focusing on an orenji favorite: cheesecake. Of course, for the holidays, the perfect cheesecake is Pumpkin, balanced with smooth Belgian bittersweet chocolate!

Our perfect holiday cheesecake begins with a deep chocolate cookie crust. Crispy and sweet, this is the foundation for the dessert which follows!

Atop the crust we slowly bake a layer of creamy cheesecake, dense with Belgian bittersweet chocolate. A lighter layer of pumpkin cheesecake, infused with oven-roasted sugar pumpkin and freshly grated autumn spices rests atop the chocolate layer. The layers—able to be eaten separately if desired—are best enjoyed together, the lightness of the pumpkin balanced by the deep, rich chocolaty base.

We decorate our cheesecake with hand-crafted chocolate leaves and molded acorns, as well as a beautiful orange satin ribbon. Not only is this dessert delicious, but it also can serve as a showpiece for your holiday meal!
